A Rumored Fortune
by Joanna Davidson Politano
About the Book:
Tressa Harlowe’s father did not trust banks, but neither did he trust his greedy extended family. He kept his vast fortune hidden somewhere on his estate in the south of England and died suddenly, without telling anyone where he had concealed it. Tressa and her ailing mother are left with a mansion and an immense vineyard and no money to run it. It doesn’t take long for a bevy of opportunists to flock to the estate under the guise of offering condolences. Tressa knows what they’re really up to. She’ll have to work with the rough and rusticated vineyard manager to keep the laborers content without pay and discover the key to finding her father’s fortune–before someone else finds it first.
Award-winning author Joanna Davidson Politano welcomes readers to Trevelyan Castle, home of the poorest heiress in Victorian England, for a treasure hunt they’ll not soon forget.
Joanna Politano’s sophomore release, A Rumored Fortune, was phenomenal!
If you enjoy reading Christian Fiction, you absolutely must read this book. If you don’t read Christian Fiction, but you enjoy books that draw you closer to the Lord, then read this book. The fiction story was great, but it was the spiritual elements that blew me away. The parallels between the vineyard and the Scripture passages about Jesus as the True Vine spoke to my heart. I believe they will speak to yours if you let the Sprit guide you into all truth.
A Rumored Fortune has a heroine who has always longed for a close relationship with her father and now she bares the loss that he is dead. She has always believed him to be a trustworthy and up-standing gentleman, but as she uncovers a family mystery, she faces the fact that he may not be a good man after all. He’s left a debt and workers unpaid, but that’s not the worst thing she may have uncovered.
The hero will win your heart along with Tressa’s as he strives to do the right thing, even if he seems to be going about it the wrong way. He bears a secret of his own that makes falling in love with Tressa all the more complicated and impossible. This love story is beautiful and hard-earned. I loved the fact that it wasn’t love at first sight but developed slowly and with sacrifice.
Tressa must find the rumored treasure, but to her, it’s not a rumor, she’s seen it, but she can’t remember where. Full of mystery, and surprising twists, you are certain to enjoy this new book by Joanna Politano.
I loved it! I’m an absolute fan and will read everything she writes!
