His Encouragement #20-Benefits Better than Dental Insurance

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. Psalms 68:19 KJV

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psalms 103:2 KJV

What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? Psalms 116:12 KJV

When we as humans are looking for a new job, one of the most asked questions after income is the benefits package, including insurances and retirement. In these three verses, the words benefits is used to express all the things that God has done for us without us even asking.

First of all, the Psalmist is praising the Lord for his daily benefits. He says that God loads us down with benefits. Then in the second verse, he reminds us not to forget God’s benefits to us.

A home in heaven

Air to breathe

Food to Eat

Shoes on our feet

A loving father who hears our prayers

Unconditional love

Forgiveness when we don’t deserve it.

Direction and Wisdom

His Word

Last of all, the Psalmist asks a question, he says, “what shall I render (give) unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” God has done so much for us, we should consider what we can do for him in return to thank him for all his wonderful benefits he gives us every day.

What benefits can you thank God for today?

What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!

The list is unending! I’m SO grateful to God for so much. The relationship He’s created with me, my husband and daughter, my mother, my best friend, my job, my blog ministry, my health, and His provision and protection (to name a few!). 🙂

What an awesome way to look at this – and I love the title 🙂 There are so many things to be grateful for, even the little things like getting to work safely, going to a church that I love. The list could pretty much go on forever.

This is great! Each day we can encourage ourself or others by being thankful for so many things we are blessed with or given freely in this life from God–sunshine, air to breathe freely, sounds of nature.
