His Encouragement #24- When God Gets Forgetful

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 8:10-12 KJV

Recently, I came across this verses and I was just captivated by them. I actually had to read it over a couple times because I was like, “huh?” Then I was like, “Oh, I get it now.” It’s not often you see a verse telling you not to teach or witness to people about the Lord. This verse is talking about a time in the future when there will be no need for these things because all people will already know the Lord!

But I wanted to focus on verse 12. I don’t know about you, but I’m so glad that there are somethings God promises to forget, namely my sins and iniquities. There are other verses that tell us that when we get saved that God puts are sins as far as the east is from the west. Another says he puts them on the bottom of the sea.

However, here in Hebrew chapter 8, God says that “their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” He’s promising to forget them and never bring them up again! Hallelujah!

We don’t have to worry that someday in eternity future that God is going to suddenly remember that one thing you did on that one day and decide you don’t deserve to be in Heaven anymore. He’s not going to remember them anymore ever again!

It reminds me of that song, What Sins Are You Talking About? The chorus goes like this:

What sins are you talking about, I don’t remember them anymore; from the Book of Life they’ve all been torn out, I don’t remember them anymore.
