His Encouragement #30- Be of Good Cheer

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 KJV

This morning when I woke up, I was reading through Facebook and again began praying for the friend of a friend who’d asked for prayer. As I was praying, I began thinking of how much hurt and pain there is in the world. It seems everyone I know is hurting in some form or fashion, be it physical pain through illness or injury or emotional pain because of family or financial struggles. As I prayed, this verse came to mind to share today.

Jesus says that in him we can have peace. It also says that in this world we “shall” have tribulation. It’s a fact and no one is immune. BUT, he says to be of good cheer BECAUSE he has overcome the world. His peace is much stronger than anything we face. He can give us peace to endure through any of life’s harrowing circumstances. We are assured that trouble and tribulation has an end, but his peace has no end.

So, no matter what you may be facing today, this week, next month, or next year, BE OF GOOD CHEER, he has already overcome everything and will give you peace through it all.

What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!
