White Stick Blog Tour, Interview, and Giveaway

About the Book:

Book:  White Stick

Author: Jacqueline Middler

Genre:  Memoir

Release Date: May 13, 2020

When a positive pregnancy test upends her carefree coed life, Jacqueline Marie decides to end the life of her unborn child. That abortion and the one that followed not only destroyed two lives but also wrecked Jacqueline’s soul.

Unprepared for the emotional wounds abortion inflicts, Jacqueline turns to drugs and alcohol to mask her pain, but nothing she does assuages her deep-seated guilt. When staying with relatives in Florida—intended to give her a fresh start—she hears the gospel message, and while reading the creation story and promises of God, she encounters a God who loves her despite her choices.

As she experiences God’s grace and forgiveness, Jacqueline is able to finally forgive herself. Now a doula and a voice for the unborn, she shares her story to help other women who have had abortions know that healing and redemption are possible through Jesus.

Interview with Jacqueline:

  1. Tells us about yourself –

An avid reader and devoted mother of three, Jacqueline Middler gives voice to the women who have had abortions and live with the regret and shame of that decision. White Stick is her debut work, birthed from the years-long journey to healing and redemption and her desire to open the eyes of the world to the harm this choice brings to women. She has a degree from Johnson & Wales in Marketing, with concentrations in English and Psychology. She is a trained still birth doula working with families of fatal fetal diagnosis and pregnancy loss at any stage. Jacqueline works in the meetings industry as an independent contractor helping her clients find and contract hotels and resorts for their meetings and events. She volunteers with her local pregnancy choice center helping women through sharing the love of Jesus and her story.

2. What inspired you to write this book?

I was inspired to write this book while attending a concert of an indie artist. I was blind sighted when a video came on talking about the right to choose abortion. Many women and doctors talked about how it was an easy choice and the better choice. As I heard the women speak about abortion in this callous way my heart ached. I wondered if anyone knew the devasting consequences that abortion brings. The shame and guilt I had dealt with for years. As the women stood up and cheered for their right to choose, I looked up to God and told him I would be his voice. He took me on a journey of healing and love and the words poured out of me. I hope these words bring hope and peace to my readers.

3. What one thing do you want readers to take away from your book

The biggest take away is God is bigger than your sin. His love can heal you in a way that nothing else can. Shedding light on the after effect that Abortion causes to women and their lives is also equally important. Everyone talks about the baby and the choice, but no one is talking about the shame and guilt that a woman can carry for the rest of her life. The shame and guilt that only a loving God can ease. Accepting forgiveness is easier than forgiving yourself. Once you forgive yourself there is freedom in finding the purpose that God has for you.

4. What do you do for fun when not writing?

Traveling and reading our great loves of mine. I love the seeing and experiencing the earth that God has created. Escaping reality and reading stories is a favorite pastime. Alaska is where I lived the most as a kid, it is in my soul and the untapped beauty and wildness calls to me. You will find me most happy on the water and fishing. We spend our summers in Alaska fishing and hiking and escaping the busyness of our live. Baking cookies is something that brings me peace. At Christmas I make over 10 different kinds of cookies (over 800) and hand them out to friends.

5. What are you working on now and how do we find your books?

Currently I am working on my YouTube channel which will be a place where people can find a little bit of God’s love. I am also researching a new book for teenage/college girls and the pitfalls they face.  My books can be found on my website: jacquelinemiddler.com, on amazon, on most Christian book websites, and on the redemption press website.

More from Jacqueline

White Stick was written in hopes of freeing women from the bondage of shame and guilt that comes with the choice of Abortion. This book purpose is to shed light on the after effects of what this choice does to a women’s soul and life. This choice is not the quick decision or the “easier choice” that the media portrays but can effect every one of your choices after for the rest of your life. Only Gods love and Jesus’s grace can free you. I was a Christian many years before I was able to forgive myself. Until you forgive yourself it is hard to walk in the pans God has for you. You the reader are able to walk with me through my abortion to redemption. This is a raw honest look at the devastation this choice brings.
