I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.
I’m very excited to share my personal verse for 2021 and begin a new journey together through the Word of God.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”Psalm 16:11 KJV
This leads into a theme for this year’s His Encouragement posts. Each week, I will look at another “path” found in the Bible. We will also look at verses with the word “lead.” I hope that as we journey together through these verses that we all will learn a little more about God and the paths he has for us to take in our lives.
Today’s verse is Isaiah 43:16, 19- “Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Are you tired of the same old, same old?
Do you keep looking back at how things used to be?
Do you feel you’re in a wilderness or a desert right now in 2021?
Have you thought about what new thing God has in store for us in the future?
Do you consider “new” to be a bad thing? Kind of reminds me of the movie, The Croods: if it’s new, it must be bad!
Why do we think that way when God has repeatedly told us He likes new?
Scripture uses the word “new” 150 times. No, not all of them are positive. And yes, some are material things.
But I also think of verses that mention, “a new creature, a new Heaven and a new Earth, a new song, a new name, a new covenant, new mercies, a new heart, a new spirit, a new testament, a new commandment…”
Revelation 21:5, even says, – ” … Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
I’m thankful for NEW. I’m thankful God doesn’t leave us in our sin. I’m glad His mercies are NEW every morning. I’m thankful He has given me a NEW song and has made me a NEW creature.
He will do a NEW THING in your life if you will allow him. He will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert. New is NOT bad! Will you let Him make you new?
What NEW thing can you be thankful for today?
What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!
