His Encouragement 2019 #2- Come Boldly

I’ve joined my blogging friends for a new facet of my blog, called His Encouragement, inspiring scriptures shared each Thursday. My hope and my prayer is that these scriptures each week will bless your heart and encourage your soul.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV

Our pastor has begun preaching a series on prayer in our Wednesday night services. Last night, he spoke about our access to our Heavenly Father. He never mentioned the verse above in his sermon, but all evening this verse kept going through my mind.

Isn’t wonderful that Jesus Christ has given us full access to God’s throne through prayer! We can come before his throne to obtain mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we do deserve. Grace is when God gives us what we don’t deserve. I love that we can come boldly before him to ask for what we need, whether that be forgiveness for failing him or healing for our physical bodies or direction for His will or wisdom when life seems out of control.

Are you in need of grace or mercy today? He says to come boldly before his throne and you will find exactly what you seek.

What scripture is encouraging you today? Share it with us!

I love this post! Here’s my favorite part:
“Mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we do deserve. Grace is when God gives us what we don’t deserve.”

I love these definitions. God really, truly is so good to us!!!
