Be Still Saturday- Isaiah 12:2-MY

Welcome to “Be Still Saturday!” Sit down with a cup of coffee, or tea, or hot chocolate, or even soda, doesn’t matter, and spend a few minutes letting God speak to you through his word. Each week, I will share a single verse or passage that blessed my heart as I read through the Bible this year.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid:

for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;

he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:2

This week in my Bible reading, I came across this verse in Isaiah 12, and it reminded me so much of the scriptures found in the Psalms. I wonder if the Prophet Isaiah was actually quoting the Psalmist when he penned these words. I can totally relate to this thought that God is my strength and my song. I love that it’s personalized. He’s MY strength and MY song. Our God is a personal God. He cares about what’s happening to you individually. He’s interested in YOU. Yes, He died for His church, but He also wants to have a relationship with you personally.

He desires to be YOUR comfort. YOUR peace. YOUR guide. YOUR salvation. He wants you to claim Him as your own. That He could directly affect your life, alter your perspective, and change you into His likeness.

So, my question for you today is: are you allowing God to influence your life directly? How’s your personal relationship? Is He more to you than “some being” out there that has no interest in what’s happening down here? He cares very much about you and He longs to be your very best friend.
